AUGUSTA, GA (WFXG) –
Former Grovetown City Clerk Vicky Capetillo has been sentenced theft of city funds and money laundering.
On Tuesday, Mar. 27, Capetillo was sentenced to fifty-four months. She must surrender herself to police custody by 2 p.m. on April 30. The judge recommended that she serve her sentence at Alderson Federal Prison Camp in West Virginia.
Upon her release, she will need to complete forty hours of community service and pay restitution totaling $891,720.54. Additionally, she’ll be required to submit to substance abuse testing.
