Craig Oglesby (source: Richmond County Technical Career Magnet School)A Richmond County teacher is on administrative leave after allegations surfaced that he was involved in an inappropriate relationship with a student.
According to a statement from Richmond County BOE Communications Director Kaden Jacobs, Richmond County Technical Career Magnet School culinary arts teacher Craig Oglesby has been accused of having an inappropriate relationship with a student. The allegation was raised on March 23. An investigation was begun and Oglesby places on administrative leave.
While the investigation is still ongoing, a Richmond County School System police plan to go before a Richmond County judge Monday to request they issue a warrant for Oglesby’s arrest for the charge of Sexual Assault by a Person with Supervisory or Disciplinary Authority.
Kaden Jacobs says in the statement, “The accusations against Mr. Oglesby are reprehensible and we will always take swift and decisive action to protect our students.”
