Aiken County is still mourning the loss of one of their own. On Monday, Lexington Officer Philip Weese lost his life in a car accident.
Hundreds of family members, law enforcement officials, and close friends came out to Millbrook Baptist Church to say their final goodbyes to a loved one gone too soon.
The Aiken County Coroner says that Weese was driving to work this past Monday when he lost control of his vehicle on I-20 and crashed.
Loved ones are now remembering the moments they had with Philip and how much of a smile he brought to their faces.
Here’s what one high school friend said is her fondest memory of him.
“When I was in High School growing up with him, I worked with him and he would always come over to my aunt’s house and we would play dance dance revolution and we would watch movies and he always made whoever smile around him, and there was never a dull moment when it came to Phillip and If I ever needed him he was there,” says High School Classmate, Naomi Richey.
Before working as an Officer for the Lexington County Sheriff”s Office, Phillip also worked with the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office and Aiken Department of Public Safety.
