Fire Chief Jeremy Wallen (source: Columbia County)Columbia County has a new Fire Chief.
Since the retirement of former Fire Chief Doug Cooper at the end of 2016, Jeremy Wallen has served as Interim Fire Chief. Wallen has now officially been named as Columbia County’s Fire Chief.
Chief Wallen has been with the Columbia County Fire Department for twenty-three years, having previously served as Administration Chief. He has completed Chief Fire Officer Training by the Georgia Public Safety Training Center. He also holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Augusta University and is a graduate of the Carl Vinson Institute’s Management Development Program from the University of Georgia. He is a Georgia State Certified Firefighter, Georgia Licensed EMT (Emergency Medical Technician) and Peace Officer.
