If you were traveling along Blair Frontage Rd on April 21 then you probably noticed all the bikers outside of Timms Harley Davidson. In-Vest USA was hosting a poker run to raise money for an active shooter vest to donate to Burnettown police department.
In-Vest USA sole purpose is to provide protective gear for out first responders. This particular type of active shooter vest cost $1,000.
“It is the most recently technology out and it has titanium steel alloy plates in there that will stop any riffle round that’s currently on the market. We want to make sure that every officer in America now has what they need to come home safely to their families.”, explains Michael Letts, who is the President of In-Vest USA.
Since the vest are expensive some police departments have very few. Most officers have concealable vest which will stop a side arm or pistol but not a riffle round. During the event biker Mark Jackson remembered the life of Officer JD Paul who worked with Richmond County. “He was killed in the line of duty and the individual who shot him was using an assault riffle so this is something that could probably helped Officer Paul at the time.”
Jackson along with many other riders took the opportunity to show officers how much they mean to them and the community.
